Dominica: 7 queens to vie for 2024 National Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant
Notably, the Wob Dwiyet is the national dress of the Commonwealth of Dominica and this pageant symbolises a celebration of traditional attire, worn by women with utmost pride and honour for the culture and traditions of the country.

Dominica’s Division of Culture has unveiled the list of 7 queens to participate for the coveted title of 2024 National Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant. It is a part of activities for the 46th anniversary of Independence of the island nation, celebrating glitz and glamour while fostering the rich cultural heritage of the nation.
Notably, the Wob Dwiyet is the national dress of the Commonwealth of Dominica and this pageant symbolises a celebration of traditional attire, worn by women with utmost pride and honour for the culture and traditions of the country.
The National Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant has been scheduled to take place on 23rd October, 2024 at Massacre Indoor Facility. This prestigious event is a great platform for the ladies to showcase their talent, beauty and offers all the attendees a unique blend of glamor and elegance to the traditional world of pageantry.
The ladies who will be participating in this prestigious competition includes, Ciara Andrew – Morne Rachette; Estaissia Laville – Warner; Jasileah Jacob – Paix Bouche; Heidi Akimer Ellick – Grand Bay; Byanka Thomas – Sibouli, Massacre; Treasure Anthony – Canefield and Zoryda Lewis – Soufriere.
Ciara Andrew – Morne Rachette
Ciara Andrew is 18-year-old who has been graduated from Convent High School in 2022. She is currently pursuing her further education at Dominica State College. She has a profound love for the rich cultural heritage of Dominica. She is greatly influenced by the stories narrated by her grandmother and through which, she developed a connection for the music, dance and the Wob Dwiyet dress.
Estaissia Laville – Warner
A 19-year-old beauty is all set to participate in the competition and left a lasting impression and make her impact culturally like her family did. She believes in embracing her culture and heritage by contributing to a brighter future.
Jasileah Jacob – Paix Bouche
Jasileah Jacob is marked by determination and with her participation in the contest, she aims to set an example for others to leave a positive impact on the communities.
Heidi Akimer Ellick – Grand Bay
A 23-year-old is all set to compete in her first pageant, she believes that her ambitious and personality will definitely make her one of the best participants in the History of Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant. With her participation, she is aiming to learn and put in all in her new experiences.
Byanka Thomas – Sibouli
A 24-year-old Thomas has always been passionate about her culture and traditions. In her journey to title of Miss Wob Dwiyet 2024, she aims to express her creativity and style in compelling ways.
Treasure Anthony – Canefield
She is a vibrant young lady who has keen interest for culture and have utmost love for the Independence Season. She has always loved dancing and finds joy and freedom in expressing herself through various dance forms. She aims to inspire others to follow their passions with same zeal and enthusiasm that she possesses.
Zoryda Lewis – Soufriere
Zoryda Lewis is all set to step up for her new journey while taking the motivation from her favourite quote “Even the Darkest Night Will End and The Sun Will Rise.” She stated that it resonates with her life experiences and inspires her to keep going. She stated that this motivation would be very beneficial for her in her journey to the pageant.
Also, Dominica is all set to mark the 46th anniversary of Independence on 3rd November, 2024 under the theme “Péyi Nou, Kado Nou” (Our Country, Our Gift). This theme aims to preserve the rich history of the island nation by celebrating several competitions, festival fetes and marking national observances.
