The exclusive Investment Gateway Summit 2024 has kickstarted its second day at St. Kitts Marriott Resort with overwhelming registrations and speeches of several prominent figures.

Day 2 highlights: Investment Gateway Summit 2024 showcases local offerings and global vision 

St. Kitts and Nevis: The exclusive Investment Gateway Summit 2024 has kickstarted its second day at St. Kitts Marriott Resort with overwhelming registrations and speeches of several prominent figures.  

At the starting, people from different regions, countries and ethnicities have showcased their enthusiasm to be the part of the celebration of the vibrant culture of St. Kitts and Nevis. They were seen enjoying themselves at the booths of locals, providing them with great business by buying their things such as bags, keyrings, stationery, baches with country flag crafted on them, bracelets, belts, and photo frames.  

In addition to that, the sponsors have also installed their stalls in the summit to provide knowledge about their services and enhance connections. The interactions, engaging conversations and collaboration efforts have been taking place in the Investment Gateway Summit, justifying its theme of – “Connect, Collaborate and Celebrate.” 

After all these early engagements, the event was started with the national anthem of St. Kitts and Nevis, featuring the participation of all attendees. Minute after the start, the birthday wishes have been poured on Governor General- Dame Marcella Liburd with the standing ovations by the gathered people.  

She extended gratitude as people wished her good health and happy life on her auspicious occasion.  

Further, the Ambassador of St. Kitts and Nevis to the CARICOM- Larry Vaughan came to the stage and greeted the attendees with warm welcome speech. He engaged with the attendees and talked with them in his unique style of wittiness.  

Michael Martin- the Head of the Citizenship by Investment Unit of St. Kitts and Nevis also addressed the gathering and outlined the success of the CBI Programme. He said that this is immense proud for all of them to witness the success of the programme for over so many years.  

In addition to that, he also outlined significant regulations to the CBI and said that these changes have been implemented to ensure the integrity and reputation of the programme at the international stage.  

He talked about the recently introduced Continuing International Due Diligence Unit and said that it will ensure the due diligence aspects of the CBI and protect the country. Michael Martin further touched the topic of the Memorandum of the Agreement (MOA) which was signed by the five Caribbean countries with CBI Programme in March 2024.  

He also put spotlight of the attendees on the increasing minimum investment thresholds of the CBI under the sustainable island state contribution to US$250,000. After that, he gave importance to the sustainable agenda of the country in his speech and said that collaborations could make it possible as it will reinforce the landscape of the country.  

Michael Martin added, “Protection, Adaptability and Resilience of the CBI Programme is paramount, we evolve it to ensure the best practices of the CBI.”  

In addition to that, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew also delivered a keynote address in the summit and lauded the warm hospitality of St. Kitts and Nevis. He called the event “first of its kind” which is meant to enhance connection, collaboration and celebration.  

PM Drew asserted that there is a need of collaboration for a sustainable future as sustainability could make a country thrive and most important make its people thrive. He appreciated the programme and the locals of the country for their support and dedication.  

PM Drew said that IGS 2024 is not just a gathering, it is a testament for the shared vision, cooperation, partnership and innovation.  

The second day has been reaching towards the end as there will be scenic railway tour of St. Kitts after lunch through which the investors and economic citizens will experience the true essence of the country and its local offerings.  

Reportedly, the Summit will run through July 14, 2024, with the third day being started through panel discussions, workshops and dynamic networking sessions.
