“It is always a great pleasure to visit the #BluePacific Continent and to reaffirm our longstanding relations with #Pacific friends,” she mentioned while adding, “I look forward to listening to our members & partners at #PIF2022 #PIFLM51 to celebrate & amplify the Pacific voice for global action!”
The meet was attended by many international leaders, which were welcomed by the PM. While welcoming the leaders, he stated, “A real pleasure to welcome my fellow Forum leaders to Suva! As I said at the Panel on Ocean Leadership, there’s nothing a united Pacific cannot do — from building a Blue Pacific Wall of the protected ocean to becoming the world’s largest supplier of sustainable blue foods.”
The United States Vice President Kamala Harris virtually joined the Pacific Islands Forum. Fiji PM praised the bond between the USA and Fiji and stated, “I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: The USA is a Pacific power that has every reason to be a closer Pacific partner to our people, especially on climate, oceans, and maritime security. Hope to host you in Fiji soon!”
