Saint John’s: The healthcare facilities of Antigua and Barbuda has recorded a total of sixty-nine new cases of the COVID-19 virus, as per the dashboard updated for January 30, 2022, by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Environment. At the same time, two hundred and twenty-five (225) individuals recovered from the virus.
Out of the total active cases, nine individuals are at present in the hospital facilities, while the remaining 367 are under isolation at their homes. The total count of the COVID-19 recoveries stands at 6,124, as per the data shared in the report by the health ministry.
Out of the total hospitalized cases, two COVID patients are in a severe condition while one is in moderate and the other six are having mild symptoms, the healthcare authorities noted.
A total of 127 individuals have lost their lives to the deadliest mutant in Antigua and Barbuda since the pandemic emerged on the island. Meanwhile, there are a total of 6,627 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus reported in Antigua and Barbuda, till January 30, 2022, the health ministry noted.
The COVID-19 vaccination statistics of the island:
According to the statistics, there are a total of 2,839 persons in Antigua and Barbuda who are partially vaccinated by taking their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as of January 30, 2022.
On the other hand, there are a total of 60,358 persons who have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully immunized.
The Ministry of Health has further asked the unvaccinated and partially vaccinated population to get their required doses of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines. It further advised the general public to abide by the COVID-19 health protocols and measures put in place by the government of Antigua and Barbuda in order to ensure their safety and of their loved ones too.
