COVID-19 Update: Discharge of 60 persons from isolation

Barbados: Sixty persons were discharged from isolation on Friday, February 5, while there were 20 new positive coronavirus cases.
After the recent rise of coronavirus in the nation, people were in stress and chaos. But there is the release of sixty people from isolation is a ray of hope. This is not more than a relief for the people.
The new positives were diagnosed from the 220 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. There are now 309 active cases on the island.
A 75-year-old woman and former patient of the Geriatric Hospital died from coronavirus the previous day, bringing the number of demises from the viral illness to 18.
The 20 new cases recognized on Friday comprise nine women and 11 men. Twelve of them had already been at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility undergoing estimation to determine whether their positive PCR test result showed that they were, in fact, newly positive or whether they had coronavirus in the past and were no longer infectious.
Of the other eight cases, six are Barbadians, and two are non-nationals.
The total number of persons diagnosed as positive at Her Majesty’s Prisons Dodds remains at 362. Of these, 358 have recovered, and the remaining four inmates are included in the active cases.
Barbados has recorded 1,676 confirmed cases – 692 females, 984 males – and 1,349 persons have recovered. So far, the public health laboratory has completed 106,256 tests.
A Facebook user commented, “We pray that the recovery numbers stay higher than the new infections and that no more loves ones are lost; we keep praying for the sick to heal.”
Another Facebook user commented, “Please look beyond the mere numbers 220 tests done today. ONLY 220, of which 20 or almost 10% are positive. We still have a long way to go. Each person has a part to play. Stay at home; wear your mask properly when out and about. Stay the 6 ft away from others, wash hands and sanitize them when washing not possible.”
