The Apostolic Ark Pentecostal Church of Jamaica had recently pulled through the long-awaited 2024 convention, which has drawn a week-long spiritual gathering of the believers from Jamaica and other territories to mark special occasion of 105th year of Apostolicism in Jamaica.

The Apostolic Ark Pentecostal Church of Jamaica had recently pulled through the long-awaited 2024 convention, which has drawn a week-long spiritual gathering of the believers from Jamaica and other territories to mark special occasion of 105th year of Apostolicism in Jamaica.

Organised from August 11 to 18, 2024, at the church home base at Huntley Avenue, Brown’s Town, St Ann, the event involved effective preaching, active worship and restoration of the spirit of togetherness among the participants.

Theme for the convention: ‘Forward Still; Be Strong in the Lord, For He is Good’

As with the previous conventions, the selected theme, “Forward Still, Be Strong in the Lord, For He is Good” was appreciated by the participants at the event. This theme was perhaps used both as a call to action and as a motivation for the faithful whenever they faced tribulations in their life.

Event Highlights

Distinguished Hosts and Impactful Speakers: This convention was presided over by two of the church’s most senior and respected officials, Apostle Dr G.W. Johnson and Bishop Linden Johnson. Their teachings and prayers shaped followers’ attitudes towards the week of worship in an appropriate manner.

Highlights for the week-long convention included:

  • On Sunday night, August 11, Evangelist Peter Baker opened the convention with hype message that created velocity for the week.
  • Dr Colin Cawley was the guest preacher on Monday and Tuesday, 12th and 13th of August, and preached sermons that was about urging the followers to be more faithful.
  • On Wednesday, August 14, Dr Glenton Dennis conducted a special Bible Study time that provided a day of teaching which enhanced the participants spiritually.
  • Elder Nicholas Chambers, on August 15th and 16th, preached a number of sermons that appealed the feeling of the congregation.
  • Finally, the Bishop Dr Dolbert Clarke wrapped up the convention on the morning of the Sunday, August 18 with inspiring word that stuck a cultural impression to all.

Celebrating a Century of Apostolicism: The convention held in 2024 was special due to the celebration of 105 years of Apostolicism in Jamaica. This accomplishment was greeted with respect and appreciation by the church administration. The week was therefore characterized by remembrance of the Apostolic faith in Jamaica as well as a looking forward into the future.

The outstanding success of the 2024 convention of The Apostolic Ark Pentecostal Church of Jamaica is still felt by everyone. The event marked as many as 105 years of Apostolicism to the members of the church and at the same time made them recall the goal of the church and the sturdiness of its faith.
