Government of the region has piloted their six young cricketers to the United Kingdom, ahead of the Royal Engineer Cricket 2022.

Antigua and Barbuda: The Government of the region has piloted their six young cricketers to the United Kingdom, ahead of the Royal Engineer Cricket 2022.
The team has been sent by the Ministry of Sport of Antigua and Barbuda, in collaboration with the office of the High Commission to London and the Keyworth Cricket Club in Nottingham, England, has been piloting a cricket and cultural exchange programme.
The Government of Antigua and Barbuda made this announcement through social media. It mentioned, “The Government, through the Ministry of Sport, in partnership with the office of the High Commission to London and the Keyworth Cricket Club in Nottingham England, has been piloting a cricket and cultural exchange programme, established since 2018.”
The necessary arrangements should be made for the convenience of the young cricketers, asked the Ministry of Sports, to ensure the 2022 instalment of the tour is a success.
“Following on the success of the previous year’s tour to the United Kingdom, and with the renewed commitment of the High Commission to Antigua, Her Excellency Karen May Hill, Daryll Mathew, Minister Of Education and Sport, recommends that the Ministry of Sport, through the Planning unit make the necessary arrangements to ensure the 2022 instalment of the tour a success,” the Government informed while explaining the privileges given the team on tour.
The 2022 tour will consist of six young cricketers: Michael Hariall, Chey Anne Moses, Glendon Williams, Jaylen Francis, Dahri Barrymore Hughes/Francis, and Glen Williams.
The ministry further asserted that the Ministry of Education and Sport would cover the cost of airfare, personal accident travel insurance and a stipend to cover the period of April 27, 2022 (Wednesday) to September 11, 2022 (Tuesday).
Prime Minister Gaston Browne congratulated all six young crickets and wished them all the best for their tour to the United Kingdom.
