Antigua and Barbuda: The health authorities have announced new COVID-19 protocols for travelers returning to Antigua. These newly announced travel protocols will come into effect from March 16, 2022 (Wednesday).
According to the new protocols, the nationals and residents of Antigua and Barbuda returning to the nation will not be required to be vaccinated, but they must have their COVID-19 test report (PCR or Rapid Antigen).
“Effective Wednesday, March 16, 2022, nationals and residents of Antigua and Barbuda returning to Antigua do not require vaccinations; however, they require a Covid test (PCR or approved Rapid Antigen) no more than four days old and a quarantine period in their own homes of 10 to 14 days,” the official statement by the government of Antigua and Barbuda.
The latest protocols further mentioned that the nationals and residents who have been vaccinated would not require a COVID-19 test prior entering to Antigua.
According to the statics by the government, around 40,000 vaccination ID cards have been issued so far.
“Further, nationals and residents who are vaccinated do not require a Covid test to enter into Antigua (unless they show symptoms of possible infection). More than 40,000 vaccination ID cards have been issued thus far, such that the nationals and residents can readily prove their vaccination status,” it further mentioned.
Earlier, all tourists traveling to Antigua and Barbuda are required to be fully vaccinated; however, these visitors do not require a PCR or Rapid Antigen Test for entry into Antigua and Barbuda.
As per the statics by the government released on March 5, active cases in Antigua and Barbuda were at 19, and the number of recovered people was at 7301; total recovered cases are at 301456.
Till March 5, the total number of deaths reported in the region is 135, taking the total number of tally to 8434 and tests conducted are 16700.
