21 presidential guards are being questioned by judicial police. At the same time, the Haitians have been going forward in their investigation of the assassinations of President Jovenel Moise 1 week ago at his private residence.
The police said that the 21 presidential guards were present at the place of the incident during the night Haiti’s President Moise was killed, and his wife was also shooted and seriously injured when the gunmen, alleged to be former Colombian army officers, carried out the attack.
In addition, the authorities have taken the mobile phones of the guards who are being interrogated. The police have also stopped the owner of a private security firm from leaving the country and had issued wanted notices for three other men whom they say are “armed and dangerous”.
On Tuesday, the National Police of Haiti (PNH) issued three wanted notices for men who they said are accused of “murder, attempted murder, armed robbery”.
These include former legislator John Joel Joseph and Rodolphe Jaar, a businessman and manager of several companies. Jaar uses the alias Whiskey, and during 2013 who was indicted in federal court in South Florida on charges of conspiring to smuggle cocaine from Colombia and Venezuela through Haiti to the US.
Chairman of CARICOM PM Gaston Browne refused for the plan of military presence in Haiti. He expects that the country has been doing the investigation sufficiently to find the reason and person behind the assassination of their President Jovenel Moise, who was shot dead last Wednesday.
Martine Moise said the attack that killed her husband happened in the blink of an eye, without even giving President a chance to say a word. Martine Moise said in the audio message that has been posted on her official Twitter account on Saturday. This was the first her first interaction after the attack that shook the whole of Haiti.
In the message that was in Creole, Martine Moise said that the mercenaries were sent to only kill her husband and Haiti’s President for the only reasons because of roads, water, electricity and referendum as well as postponement elections at the end of the year so that there is no change in the country’s administration.
