Minister Olivia Grange, in the 2024/25 Sectoral Debate, mentioned that the redevelopment project is supported by a Framework for Cooperation between Jamaica and the UK.
Further it is to be noted that the IPL manages multiple facilities which include the National Arena and the National Aquatic Centre.
In addition, the stadium’s upgrade, which includes improved lighting and infrastructure, will enhance the venue’s capability to host international events and benefit the country in terms of sports development.
The Government is optimistic about this upgrade, as it will positively affect local sports events and boost the stadium’s attractiveness for future international matches.
