Guyana: President Irfaan Ali met with a group of investors on the afternoon of Wednesday (October 12, 2022) at the Office of the President of Guyana. The representatives were led by the Chairman of the New Hayven Merchant Bank, Floyd Haynes.
The Head of the Guyana Office for Investment (GO-Invest), Dr Peter Ramsaroop, was also at the meeting.
On the same day, President Dr Irfaan Ali met with the Minister of Energy Affairs of the State of Qatar and Managing Director and CEO of Qatar Energy, Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, and his delegation.
The President and delegation witnessed discussions centred on potential collaboration between the Governments of Guyana and Qatar in the areas of energy, food, infrastructure and aviation.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation, Hugh Hilton Todd; Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat; Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill; Minister with the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar and Director of Projects at the Office of the President, Marcia-Nadir Sharma.
The meeting and discussions were lauded by the locals of the region. Many of them praised President Irfaan Ali for taking the country on the path of development. One of the locals commented, “Keep up the good work; your dreams have to come true, and a blessed a next 5 years more, and you will be the best president of the country Guyana and PPP – power progress and peace.” Yet another stated, “The President’s energy is like high-performance fuel. He is always on the go. That’s how you build the foundation for a Better Place, a Higher Space. I am marvelled not only by the physicality of the progressive work but by the gradual paradigm shift in the Guyanese and Guyana Psyche that this energized leadership is nurturing. There is much good than meeting the eye. My prayers for success.”
