Grenada PM Dickon Mitchell meets Korea PM Han Duck-soo, discusses key issues

St George’s, Grenada: The Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell, met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Han Duck-Soo, during his visit to CARICOM Meeting in Trinidad and Tobago. According to the update by the Office of the Prime Minister of Grenada, the meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development of the nation.
“On the sidelines of the recent CARICOM Meeting in Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development Joseph Andall met with a high-level delegation from South Korea led by Han Duck-soo, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea,” the official update informed on July 12, 2023.
In addition to this, OPM Grenada also informed about the important topics discussed between both counterparts.
As per the update, in the main, the meeting focused on avenues for future cooperation between the two countries.
The Republic of Korea’s expertise in areas such as food security, marine development and fisheries, and healthcare align perfectly with Grenada’s ongoing transformation efforts and present a valuable opportunity for knowledge-sharing and mutual learning.
It was further highlighted that the Republic of Korea had expressed its willingness to assist Grenada by providing training courses to address deficits in these critical areas. Additionally, there is a desire to incorporate technology into farming through smart farming practices.
Both parties agreed to advance proposals for enhanced collaboration in the coming weeks, paving the way for a fruitful partnership in the future, according to the reports.
It is worth mentioning that the Prime Minister of Korea, Han Duck-Soo met with almost all the Caribbean leaders during the CARICOM Meeting. It has been anticipated that this will boost the bilateral ties between both countries. During the meeting, important topics were discussed by the leaders of the nation, focusing on development and upliftment.
