Grenada: MoE commissions Grenada SDA Comprehensive School

St George’s, Grenada: The Ministry of Education Youth Sports and Culture has felt proud to announce the commissioning of the new Grenada SDA Comprehensive School. The school has been constructed in Mt Rose and St Patrick.

“The Ministry of Education Youth Sports and Culture officially handed over the newly refurbished and expanded Grenada SDA Comprehensive School in Mt Rose, St Patrick on June 22, 2023 (Thursday),” informed the Ministry of Education of Grenada.

The Ministry has mentioned that the project, which cost ECD $8.3 million, is titled The Expansion and Refurbishment of the Grenada SDA Comprehensive School.

It was funded by the Caribbean Development Bank and the Government of Grenada as part of phase one of the Grenada Education Enhancement Project. Work on the school began on July 21, 2021.

The engineer for the project was Dwayne Noel of VIKAB Engineering Consultants Ltd., and the contractor was Kenny’s Trucking and Equipment Services Ltd.

Many stakeholders, including the staff and students of the school, ministry officials, the Education Minister, Sen. David Andrew and the Parliamentary Representative for St Patrick East, Dennis Cornwall, were present at the ceremony.

Following the official ceremony, Chaplain Charles Gittens blessed the building and officials, and others completed a tour of the new and refurbished facilities.
