Grenada empowers farmers at Caribbean Food Crops Society CAEPNet Conference 2023
The Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, Fisheries and Cooperatives of Grenada shared the glimpse of Day 4 of the Caribbean Food Crops Society CAEPNet Grenada Joint Conference 2023.

St George’s, Grenada: The Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, Fisheries and Cooperatives of Grenada shared the glimpse of Day 4 of the Caribbean Food Crops Society CAEPNet Grenada Joint Conference 2023.
According to the update shared by the Ministry, the Conference has provided a platform to the local farmers of Grenada to provide a boost to food production. This event also offered a chance to learn better farming and agricultural practices.
“Several local farmers got the opportunity today to share their perspectives on how they increase the resiliency of the food system through the implementation of several of their best agricultural practices,” the social media post by the Agriculture Ministry of Grenada highlighted.
Accordingly, presenting their innovations, accomplishments and challenges on the Day 4 were:

➡Linda Mathurine- Carriacou & Petite Martinique Farmers Association
➡Anichelle Thomas-Marcelle- Young Farmer

➡Vernice Morain- Poultry Farmer
➡Richard Simon- Adult & Teen Challenge Grenada
The discussions on Day 4 were joined by Permanent Secretary Aaron François- who also presented on Programs at the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, Fisheries and Cooperatives.
As per the official update, the day concluded with feature remarks from Acting Prime Minister Lennox Andrew who is also the Minister for Economic Development, Planning, Tourism and ICT, Creative Economy, Agriculture and Lands, Fisheries and Cooperatives.
It also mentioned that Andrew acknowledged the historic return of the Caribbean Food Crop Society after having their last meeting here almost 20 years ago. He spoke of the role of Agricultural research in enhancing resilience by leveraging technology, innovative techniques and best practices, as per the reports.
He described the Grenada Conference as timely given that the Ministry is working to modernize extension services and continue to build the capacity of farmers.
