Education is the soul of development and prosperity. By the end of the year, 2024 government of Guyana is hoping to implement Free education. This announcement is made by the President of Guyana Dr Irfaan Ali. This amendment will play a significant role in future of Guyana.

Guyana: Education is the soul of development and prosperity. By the end of the year, 2024 government of Guyana is hoping to implement Free education. This announcement is made by the President of Guyana Dr Irfaan Ali. This amendment will play a significant role in future of Guyana.
On the occasion of Guyana’s 50th Republic Awards, Ceremony and Cultural Presentation, President of Guyana Dr Irfaan Ali delivered a virtual message which was organised by Guyana Consulate in Canada.
President Ali declared that his Government is working on creating a 21st-century (latest) education system in the country which can enhance the development in the respective country.

“We are providing 20,000 scholarships, We hope to provide free education at the University of Guyana by the end of 2024, In our Emergency Budget for 2020, we made provisions for doubling the uniform allowance and increasing, by 50%, the cash grant per student from $10,000 to $15,000, We are committed to increasing this by almost 300% in the coming years,” President Ali added.
One Laptop Per Family Initiative
President Ali initiated many schemes for the betterment of the future of children of Guyana. As per the previous week, he promised to the mountainous community residentials of Kato Region-Eight, that they would get an Information Communication Technology hub as soon as possible in their locality, which will fasten the internet access.

He declared the re-announcement of One Laptop Per Family Initiative from 2021. President Ali and the Government are seeking to implement as much as the help they can provide. This will secure the preparation of children for further difficult exams without seeking extra help. Free access to the internet will open as many as opportunities that can add fortune to lives of Guyanese students.

There have been improvements seen in health care, infrastructure and agriculture among other areas. “This is just a snapshot of the plans which are unfolding in our country. We are accelerating the pace at which we do things because we recognise that we need to ensure that the present generation benefits from development,” President Ali added.
