Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit visits vulnerable communities of East Dominica
Dominica: Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, has recently shared a glimpse of his visit to the communities of San Sauveur and Petite Soufriere on November 9, 2022.

Dominica: Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, has recently shared a glimpse of his visit to the communities of San Sauveur and Petite Soufriere on November 9, 2022. During this visit, PM Skerrit surveyed the community’s damage and devastation, which caused flooding, landslides and loss of life.
“I led a tour of the San Sauveur and Petite Soufriere communities to meet with residents and assess damage and devastation caused by the heavy rains, which resulted in flash flooding, landslides and the loss of life,” Prime Minister stated while informing about the visit through Facebook.
Prime Minister further highlighted that PM Skerrit would next visit Castle Bruce on November 10, 2022.
According to the post by Prime Minister, the Dominican government has been continuously receiving a detailed update on the extent of the damage. The government has also deployed equipment for clearing roadways and restoring commutes.
He furthermore assured that the government will continue to give attention to the East region and promises to bring relief to the affected residents.
He once again expressed sincere sympathy towards Eastern community residents who lost their properties and loved ones. Earlier, Prime Minister Skerrit, while announcing the new team Labour for the snap general election 2022, expressed his “personal and sincere condolences to relatives and friends of the Eastern villages of Dominica on the loss of their life, as well as damage to property as well as infrastructure occasioned by the passage of a tropical depression over the weekend”.
