DLP announces Vince Henderson as their candidate for Grand Bay constituency
Vince Henderson has been selected as a candidate of the Dominica Labour Party for the Grand Bay constituency re-elections. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, highlighting that the name was decided after a long discussion.

Vince Henderson has been selected as a candidate of the Dominica Labour Party for the Grand Bay constituency re-elections. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, highlighting that the name was decided after a long discussion.
Henderson is a former Government Minister & senior party scholar. DLP leader – PM Roosevelt Skerrit participated in the constituency meeting held on Tuesday. DLP has already commenced campaigning for the re-election of a parliamentarian from the Grand Bay Constituency.
Although, the Dominican government has not yet announced the final date for the re-election.
This re-election is going to take place to fill the vacant seat for the Grand Bay constituency, which fell vacant after the demise of Parliamentary Representative Edward Registe on September 1, 2021, with a heart stroke.
While announcing Henderson’s name, PM Skerrit asserted, “Vince Henderson is a young man with bright future for life, he has walked this road prior, but he never shifts his responsibilities, he still remains very active in DLP – Dominica Labour Party, managing our last two general election campaigns.”
PM Skerrit noted that if Henderson is elected as the representative for Grand Bay, then he would also assign duties to him in the cabinet. Remembering Edward Registe, PM Skerrit appreciated the work he did as a parliamentarian.
PM further cited that, “It is imperative for me that the voices of people of Grand Bay are heard, Grand Barians are accustomed to a strong voice; in the past 25-years, Grand Bay was seated at various points on the roundtable of decision making, I am committed to ensuring that there is no break-in of that tradition.”
Prime Minister added that he feels blessed for the love and trust that has been showered by the people of Grand Bay to DLP, citing, “This is the constituency that had back of Roosevelt Skerrit from the moment I assumed the leadership of DLP and the country. I remain humbled and appreciated of the warmth, love, support extended towards me by the people of Grand Bay.”
