COVID in Dominica: 24 new infections recorded
According to the COVID-19 update report issued by the Ministry of Health, a total of twenty-four additional cases of the COVID-19 virus has been reported on December 10, 2021.

Roseau, Dominica: According to the COVID-19 update report issued by the Ministry of Health, a total of twenty-four additional cases of the COVID-19 virus has been reported on December 10, 2021.
Out of these new infections, one individual tested positive by RT-PCR test, whereas twenty-three individuals tested positive for the COVID-19 virus by Rapid Antigen Testing, as per the report. The active COVID-19 infection rate in the island now stands at 395.
Meanwhile, around sixty-one individuals have been discharged from the hospital facilities. With this, the total number of people who recovered from the deadliest mutant in Dominica rises to 5,820.
Till December 10, 2021, a total of forty-two individuals have lost their lives to the contagious COVID-19 virus.
The data issued in the report of the health ministry shows that, to date, in total, 115162 COVID-19 tests have been conducted by the healthcare facilities, out of which 30170 conducted are the RT-PCR test and 84992 tests conducted are Rapid Antigen Test.
While, since the COVID-19 pandemic emerged on the island, it has recorded a total of 6,257 confirmed cases of the virus.
The report by the health ministry further notes that till December 10, 2021, a total of 29184 individuals have been vaccinated by receiving atleast their first dose of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccine.
In comparison, there are a total of 27323 individuals who have received their required number of the COVID-19 vaccine jabs and are now fully inoculated against the deadly virus.
The COVID-19 update report was shared by Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit via his Facebook post.
The ministry of health is continuously urging the Dominicans to get themselves immunised as soon as possible in order to ensure their safety and of their loved ones.
The government has not mandated the vaccination stating the reason that it is the responsibility of individuals to get vaccinated and protect themselves.
