Colin Norford Jr triumphs as ‘Chord Master’ at International Music Camp

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The St Kitts Department of Youth congratulated Colin Norford Jr for securing victory at the International Music Camp (IMC).

The Department took an official social media account to extend heartfelt wishes towards the champ of the nation.

The update read, “Colin Norford Jr made his name known and left his mark at the International Music Camp (IMC) when he was bestowed with the award of “Chord Master” after displaying his excellent skills during the Guitar program.”

The “Chord Master” award is given to the most outstanding student in the Guitar program.

According to the statement, at IMC, Norford Jr participated in a guitar and jazz band program from July 9-22, learning new techniques and skills while honing his talent.

As per the update, in a previous interview, Norford Jr stated that he would encourage other young musicians to be a part of the camp because it is an amazing opportunity to experience music in a unique way.

“You gain minor tips and tricks that transform your playing in major ways along with hearing the professionals of your instrument play day in, day out, which brings great inspiration and makes you want to practice more,” he said.

Earlier as well, the youth department praised him for his participation. “Congratulations to Colin Norford Jr, who participated in a musical stint at the International Peace Garden in North Dakota for the International Music Camp,” it mentioned.

According to the update, Norford participated in the Guitar Olympics with his team placing first and also gained some experience playing in Jazz sets.

“Yes, I would encourage other young musicians to be a part of the camp because this is an amazing opportunity to experience music in a very unique way,” he said.

Reportedly, Colin Norford Jr is a 17-year-old student of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College and a former 25 Most Remarkable Teen.
