Build Back Equal initiative inaugurated in Dominica by UN Women Caribbean

Roseau, Dominica: The United Nations Women Caribbean (UN Women Caribbean) has informed the general public about the inauguration of the Build Back Equal (BBE) initiative.
The Regional Project Steering Committee in Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines for the High Commission of Canada in Barbados and the OECS-funded Build Back Equal (BBE) Project has been inaugurated, according to the update shared by UN Women Caribbean.
Co-chairs UN Women Caribbean Representative Tonni Brodber and Dr Cassandra Williams, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Social Services, with special responsibility for Gender Affairs – Dominica, led off the recent meeting in the Commonwealth of Dominica.
Orlando Brewster – Minister of National Mobilisation, Social Development, The Family, Gender Affairs, Youth, Housing and Informal Settlement led the delegation for St Vincent and the Grenadines.
In addition to this, Senator Gloria A Thomas – Minister of State with Responsibility for Social Development and Gender Affairs, led the delegation for the Government of Grenada, and Sheila Imbert, Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of the Public Service, Home Affairs, Labour and Gender Affairs led the delegation for Saint Lucia.
Further, the High Commission of Canada to Barbados and the OECS’ First Secretary of Development, David Éric-Simard, participated virtually.
The attendees also included Co-implementing agency UNFPA Caribbean Jenny Karlsen, BBE Project Coordinator Loveness Nyakujarah, UN Women and UNFPA officers and the BBE Project Analysts.
