The Barbados and Scotland launched the first-ever virtual trade mission.
Barbados and Scotland determined that the COVID-19 pandemic would not be a deterrent, and they are staging the three-day event to showcase services and products from both the countries.
Ronald Toppin, Minister of International Business, delivered the feature address, shared the vision for developing global excellence and businesses in the future.
Toppin said that he expects that the mission would see “productive exchanges and future linkages from this engagement.
He said that given Scotland’s strong economic strategy in supporting growth and diversity through financial, human and social capital, they are experiencing successes to be shared and lessons to be learnt.
The Minister added that the Government of Barbados is desirous of attracting FDI and seeks to encourage businesses of substance to establish in Barbados. The opportunity to engage in partnerships and joint ventures is also an option.
Toppin noted that Barbados and Scotland share a long history.
