Over 20 different and established artists of the country are all set to showcase their creativity at Antigua and Barbuda Art Week, bringing the unique talent of the nation to life. This second edition of Art Week 2024 is all set to take place in the country from 27th November to 3rd December 2024.

The week-long celebration of Antigua and Barbuda Art Week 2024 is set to offer a plethora of experiences to all attendees. They will have the great opportunity to delve deeper into various art forms through immersive art and culture-guided tours, art workshops, and interactive sessions led by various artists.

The artists that will participate in the Art Week 2024 includes, Maritza Martin; Heather Doram MFA GCM, Carol Gordon-Goodwin, Zoe Carlton, Stephen Murphy, Kelly Hull, Vincent Pryce Zifah, Faye Edwards, Artsy Yaadie, Gilly Gobinet, Simone Gordon, Wakida Joseph, Anfrenette Joseph, Mako Williams, Candi Coates, Glenroy Aaron, Emile Hill, Mark Brown, Guava De Art and Elias Phillips.

Moreover, the designers, namely, Launesha Barnes, Garrett Argent Javan, and Odelia Deazle, will also feature in Antigua and Barbuda Art Week 2024.

From vibrant hues of visual art to the rhythm of live performances, the second edition of Art Week 2024 spotlights the blossoming art scene that makes Antigua and Barbuda a cultural gem within the Caribbean.

Events that will be held during Antigua and Barbuda Art Week 2024 include,

School Art Competition: The competition will take place in September and is open to both the artists in primary and secondary schools. And, their work will be displayed at the V.C. Bird International Airport.

Art Talks: The attendees will get an opportunity to engage with artists and experts during insightful panel discussions about the arts in the country.

Art Tours: The attendees will also get a chance to participate in guided tours, that traverse the twin-islands soaking up the culture and taking attendees into homes and galleries of artists to explore their works.

Exhibition and Galleries: A range of artwork, including carvings, sculptures, installations, paintings etc will be put on display in galleries and public spaces.

Workshops: Hands-on workshops led by artists will offer attendees an opportunity to learn new techniques and gain insight into the creative process and cultural heritage of the country.

Paint Session: A painting session will also be conducted in order to allow participants to showcase their creativity through painting.

Live Art Performances: The attendees will get a chance to experience dynamic live music, dance, and spoken word performances.

Christmas Market: The attendees will also get a chance to shop beautiful and locally made artisan products and crafts, making unique gifts for any occasion.

While shedding light on Art Week 2024, the Minister of Tourism of Antigua and Barbuda, Charles Fernandez, expressed excitement and stated that it is a great platform for showcasing all the incredible talent and creativity developed in the island nation.

He further added that he is really excited to share their culture and diverse art forms with the world and create an avenue for artists to shine and provide immersive art experiences for our visitors to participate in.

Moreover, Heather Doram, MFA, GCM, a leading contemporary Antiguan artist whose work has been featured in Antigua and Barbuda Art Week 2024 promotions, also expressed his excitement and stated that he is looking forward to celebrating the event.

He added that he is elated to know that the artists and creatives will be recognized during this exciting week of activities. “Art Week has become a staple on the calendar of events of Antigua and Barbuda,” noted Heather Doram.
