St Kitts and Nevis Publishes Calendar of Events for Celebration of 39th year of Independence

St Kitts and Nevis: The Federation of St Kitts and Nevis is ready to celebrate the 39th Anniversary of its independence from the rule of the British Empire on September 19, 2022. The celebrations will be held under the theme of Refocus Recreate, Redesign Independence 39.
The celebration calendar has been declared, and Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffery Hanley took to his Facebook account to share this update. He shared an image featuring the itinerary of events.
The first item in the Independence Calendar is the start of national colours week. The celebrations and the national colours week will start on Friday, September 9 and last through the week, each day dedicated to a specific colour. September 9 is devoted to the colour green in the twin islands.
Cabinet Ministers will also visit primary schools in the east zones in St Kitts while Nevis will celebrate sneaker day.
Saturday, September 10, will mark the opening of the East Basseterre Festival in St Kitts, while the twin islands will host Independence Wellness Walk.
The following Monday, September 12, St Kitts and Nevis will celebrate the national colours day, with the colour yellow in focus. Tuesday will be dedicated to the national colour black in both the islands, while Cabinet Members will visit primary schools in the Basseterre Zone.
Wednesday, September 14, will be dedicated to the national colour white in the twin Islands, St Kitts and Nevis. The Cabinet of Ministers will visit secondary schools. Alongside, Prime Minister’s Lecture Series will be hosted in St Kitts.
September 15, Thursday, will be dedicated to the national colour red. Schools will host patriotic programmes in St Kitts and celebrate Sneaker Day.
Friday, September 16, will be celebrated as National Heroes Day in St Kitts and Nevis, and National Honours will be announced. Nevis will host a national Heroes Day Concert.
On September 17, St Kitts will be hosting Independence Blocks Parties while SKN Moves, Nevis Knock Out (Public Sector VS Private Sector) will be starting on the Nevis Island.
On Independence Weekend, St Kitts will host the Independence State Service at the Antioch Baptist Church.
Monday, September 19, will be the independence day celebration featuring Independence Parade on the two islands. St Kitts will host the Governor General’s Independence Cocktail, while Nevis will host an award ceremony.
The following Friday, September 23, St Kitts will host the Ms Phenomenal Pageant, and Nevis will host the “Fitness in the tropics” yoga event the next day, September 24.
St Kitts will host Cultural Fair on Sunday, featuring designers by Movado Modelling Agency.
The following Friday, September 30, St Kitts will host Independence Freedom Concert and a fireworks display with national colours.
Tuesday, October 4, will be the Final Day of SKN Moves, Nevis Knock Out (Public Sector VS Private Sector) on Nevis Island.
Friday, October 7, St Kitts will host Elocution Contest in Schools.
Saturday, October 22, will be Drill Competition in St Kitts, and finally, the following Sunday, October 30, will launch Independence 40, Pre-Activities.
