Trinidad and Tobago crosses mark of 50,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases

The island of Trinidad and Tobago has recorded 106 new positive cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 27 September 2021, according to the report of the Health Ministry.

With the arrival of these cases, the active number of coronavirus infections increase to 4,213. In contrast, a total of 44,378 individuals have been recovered from the deadly COVID-19 mutant.

In total, around 287 people are in the hospital. The Health Ministry of Trinidad and Tobago further informed in the report that a total of 7 new deaths have been recorded, taking the total death rate to 1,464 on the Caribbean island as of 27 September 2021.

As per the Health Ministry’s report, there are a total of 71 patients in the step-down facilities, about 131 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities.

A total of 3,749 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes following the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T.

So far, as of 27 September 2021, in Trinidad and Tobago, a total of 567,206 individuals have received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas, in total, 479,905 individuals have welcomed their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and now are fully vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19.

According to the COVID-19 update report, since the deadliest pandemic started, the Caribbean island has reported a total of 50,055 confirmed cases of the virus.

If we look at the statistics of COVID-19 testing, a total of 345,048 individuals have been tested for the novel coronavirus, out of which a total of 148,270 individuals have been tested at private facilities, whereas the remaining tests were conducted at public healthcare facilities.
