Trinidad and Tobago: Acting Commissioner of Police Erla Christopher is assuring the public that all necessary measures have been implemented to ensure that every citizen is safe and ensure the security of visitors to the Divali Nagar site, located at Narsaloo Ramaya Road, Endeavour, Chaguanas.

According to the Acting CoP, “The highly anticipated event is expected to attract thousands of visitors from throughout the country, and as such, officers of the Central Division have made the necessary security and traffic arrangements to ensure the successful hosting of the event.”

The nine-day celebration began without incident yesterday, Saturday, 15th October 2022, and continues until Sunday, 23rd October. An estimated 3000 persons were in attendance last evening, and the numbers are expected to increase in the lead-up to the Divali holiday celebrations. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is ready to deal with any incidents that may arise from hosting large crowds at such an event.

The celebration commences daily from 4 pm to midnight and on the last day is expected to run until 1 am.
