The primary focus of the project will be to project assistance in strengthening the prevention and control system for chronic diseases caused by metabolic syndrome. The project will also stress on raising awareness about chronic metabolic conditions.
“This project will assist in strengthening the prevention and control system for chronic diseases caused by metabolic syndrome. One of the project’s outputs is to improve people’s awareness of their own metabolic chronic conditions by providing health screening services,” the government of St Kitts and Nevis informed.
The previous year, the total number of people who were screened under this project was 4,064 and for this year, the health ministry has decided to screen at least 4000 people. In light of further relaxing of COVID-19 restrictions, we are absolutely looking forward to having more people joining the health screenings.”
While briefing about the health checklist, the ministry stated, “The health checklist includes – Blood pressure, Blood sugar, BMI calculation – height & weight, Hip-Waist circumference, Kidney function test, and Breast Examination (BSE).
