Saint Lucia to host “The Gimies”, know requirements

Saint Lucia: The nation is all set to host the Saint Lucia Tourism Awards “The Gimies.” Notably, the tourism association has asked citizens to nominate the deserving candidate, as the process of nomination will close on 26th January 2024.

These awards recognize the best in the industry for their excellent services. These awards are named after Mount Gimie, which is the highest peak in the nation.

The conditions for being nominated have also been shared by the Tourism Association of the island nation. The condition includes,

• The nominee must have worked in the industry for the qualifying period, which is from September 2022 to October 2023.
• Various groups such as the Vendors Arcade Association, the NCA, Customs, Immigration, etc or any other entity can complete the information of the nominee on behalf of members.
• Nominations should be based on the careers of individuals in the tourism industry.

Rules for Submission of Nominations

• The nomination forms can be submitted by individuals and organizations only if:

1        They are the representative of the businesses in or if they are associated with the tourism industry.

2        If they are a Tourism or hospitality-related educational institution.

3        If their group or association is associated with the tourism industry

4        Self-employed persons in or associated with the tourism industry.

• An employee shall not nominate his or herself unless that individual is self-employed.
• An organization may nominate their business for as many organizational awards as they wish, but they should be eligible for that category.
• The only award the general public can nominate for is the People’s Choice award.
• No nominations will be accepted after the deadline, which is 26th January 2024.
