Saint Lucia: HelpAWS shares heartbreaking story of six puppies, dumped by a breeder

Castries, Saint Lucia: HelpAWS, the animal welfare organisation of Castries, Saint Lucia, shared extended story of six little puppies, who were recovered after being dumped in the pouring rain by a local breeder, who earlier dumped two doggies named – Biscuit and Sadie.

The social media post by the organisation mentioned, “Earlier, we shared the story of Biscuit and Sadie, who were dumped in the pouring rain by a local breeder because they weren’t “purebred.” Well, today, he did it again; this time, it was six babies. He called up a local volunteer and made it a point to express that he did not want them anymore and that he needed them gone. Needless to say, there was no other explanation given as to why.”

It further mentioned, “It is saddening to know breeding is taking place while we are busting our butts to rescue so many & change the future for animals on St. Lucia through education & community involvement. It sickens us that people like this breeder are deliberately contributing to the crisis instead of working to solve it. All we can do is continue to fight for progress, one pup at a time, one day at a time.”

HelpAWS also informed that that’s fighting for these six babies who didn’t ask to be born, but the organisation is so glad they ended up here with the family. They’re severely malnourished and extremely dehydrated. Not to mention have big bellies, which by no doubt, are full of worms. Who knows how long he kept them without the proper food or nutrients?

Additionally, it outlined that even though they were fearful at first, these babes have settled into the shelter and are adjusting to their new home. We will never forsake any animal who needs the organisation helps, even if they’re not fluffy or don’t look a certain way; volunteers’ hearts are open to all. “Today we stand behind the six babies, and even though they may not know what’s about to happen to them, we know their lives are about to change,” it conveyed.

While asking for the donation from the followers, it noted, “If you would like to contribute to helping change the lives of these six puppies please consider donating via Etransfer, PayPal or Zelle to donate@helpaws.com or via Venmo to @helpaws.”
