Trinidad & Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) shared the weather update that people of Trinidad, Tobago and the Remainder of the Lesser Antilles may experience generally sunny, hazy and breezy weather.
It is to be noted that weather might be interrupted by the partly cloudy periods with showers in a few areas. The night is forecasted to be cool.
Marine Forecast
As per TTMS, the seas will remain moderate.
Waves Forecast
Waves in open waters could exceed 1.5 m to 2.0 m, and it is forecasted to be below 1.0 m in sheltered and covered areas.
Air quality
The air quality is generally acceptable for the majority of people; however, the sensitive groups may face minor to moderate symptoms from long-term exposure.
It is to be noted that there will be a mild or moderate concentration of Saharan dust across the regions of Trinidad and Tobago.

The weather will remain generally sunny and hazy, with the likelihood of showers over a few areas. The night time will be generally clear and cool, with a few early morning showers.
Additionally, on January 3, people will experience sunny, slightly hazy, and breezy weather with isolated showers. According to TTMs, the night time remained fair and cooked despite the odd shower.
Weather Outlook
Recent rainfall in December has already positively influenced the surface of water flows, groundwater recharge and river levels.
It is to be noted that there will be a chance of forest, bush, and landfill fire potential, especially from early January to March 2024. It will be reached less in April and May 2024.
Early Actions required
– There is a need to review the household water plan. Preserve, manage and store water safely and sufficiently.
– There is a need to raise awareness on dry season agriculture pest and disease control measures, and there could be bushfire risk as well.
– Vulnerable communities should be sensitised to the negative impacts of the forest so that actions can be taken.
Additionally, the temperatures can fall below 20 degrees Celsius in Trinidad and 22 degrees Celsius in Tobago, most probably in January and February 2024.
