Trinidad Police arrests 3 robbery suspects during crime eradication exercises

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service arrested three individuals for the offence of robbery and larceny. The apprehension was caused by the series of coordinated operations held by the officers in different localities of the island nation.

As per the details shared by the authorities, the first case was recorded on 6th August 2024. In the reported act, allegedly, three suspects made their way into the private property without any permission at Union Village, Claxton Bay.

On reaching there, the suspects stole various valuable items but took the victim to the point of a knife. The victim was also physically assaulted in which he suffered a wound on the head. The suspects received $6,000 in cash along with other valuables such as school bags, sneakers, alcohol, and electronics.

The case was investigated by PC Chaitram with the dedicated team of officers from the Southern Criminal Investigations Department. The investigation to the case led to the arrest of one male suspect among three. One of those suspects has been identified as 21-year-old Zion Williams, a fisherman from Picos Avenue, St. Margaret’s.

He was charged with the offence of Robbery with Aggravation and Robbery with Violence. Following that, the officers continued with their search for the other two suspects.

On the other hand, during their operation, the officers met with another case of robbery which took place on 11th August 2024. In this case, a man travelling in a motor vehicle was stopped by two men armed with weapons. The case was recorded along Boodoo Trace, Warden Road, Point Fortin.

The victim was approached by the suspects while he was dropping off a friend in his silver Nissan Navarra vehicle. The man was assaulted by the victims after the announcement of a robbery in which he lost the vehicle valued at around $390,000.

The complaint was immediately reported to the authorities of Trinidad and Tobago and acted upon it, the officers launched manhunt operation. The investigation led the officers to the interception of stolen vehicle which was found along the north bound lane of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway with the help of Tactical Air Support.

The Police was successful in catching two suspects of robbery among whom, one was a teenager of New Village, Point-Fortin and other was a 33-year-old KERON LOGIE, of Andrews Street, La-Brea and New Village. Both suspects were jointly charged with Robbery with Aggravation and Robbery with Violence.

Following the successful apprehension by the authorities, the citizens lauded them for their unwavering commitment and determination towards ensuring the safety and security of the country.
