TikTok to launch new photo sharing app: Reports

TikTok is planning to make a comeback as a rival to other social media platforms, including Instagram. According to the reports, the application will be releasing a new photo sharing app.

The sources revealed that one of the TikTok users received a notification earlier this week that the application is set to launch “TikTok Notes” a “new app for photo posts.”

The notification also claimed that the photos and posts of the people will be seen on TikTok notes and it provides an ability to opt out of the app. The spokesperson of the TikTok said that they are exploring ways to strengthen their community by taking significant steps.

“As part of our continued commitment to innovating the TikTok experience, we’re exploring ways to empower our community to create and share their creativity with photos and text on a dedicated space for those formats”, said TikTok representative.

As per the information shared by tech giant, the testing phase of the application is under process and there is a high probability that when the app will roll out, it could seem very different from what is being tested.

Further, there is no news of expansion of the app in United States because the House (Senate) has approved a bill 65 by a vote of 352-to ban the application as they believed that the company’s Chinese ownership structure is a risk to the national security.

“Millions of Americans are addicted to it. They watch it and the Chinese can certainly manipulate those algorithms. The First Amendment does not give the Chinese the right to manipulate American data or the minds of Americans”, said Rep Dan Crensaw (R- Texas) while arguing in favour of passing the bill.

Additionally, TikTok is a short-form video hosting service, which was owned by the Chinese Internet Company- ByteDance. The people can post their videos, ranging from three seconds to ten minutes. It is basically a mobile-based application which has received a lot of world-wide popularity in short sphere of time.

It allows the users to create, share and watch short videos online. The application was launched in September 2016 and due to its music and sound quality, the app became the youth sensation.
