Nigeria, South Africa: At least 30 individuals suspected of having contracted with a strange illness or disease were hospitalized in Kano’s northern city on Thursday, sources revealed.
The sick people were from six villages that come under the Rogo local government area of Kano state, located 136 kilometers (85 miles) from the city.
The patients were reportedly hastened to the area’s elemental health center after giving symptoms of passing extreme blood, urine, and vomiting.
The condition is getting more critical as local practitioners and medicine stores are being overwhelmed in Unguwan Rijiyan Dadi, Gwanwan Gabas, Gwangwan Yamma, Unguwar Tsarmai, Gangare, and Unguwar Kofar Fada.
Citizens are complaining about receiving little help from the administration. A citizen of Gwangwan Gabas affirmed that 56 people caught the illness since its outbreak.
According to reports, “We rushed no fewer than 30 individuals to the Rogo General Hospital within a day of the outbreak,” stated Muhammad Tukur.
“So far, only one individual has died as a consequence of the outbreak. Most of the patients of the illness have complained of spending a lot of capital on the disease.”
Shehu Adamu, a citizen from Gangare, said that two of his kids had been affected. He said he had paid more than 20,000 nairas ($52) at the hospital, trying to get his family treated despite challenging times.
Eight individuals are affected in Idris Isah Jibrin’s house, and he stated he is absolutely devastated. Affected people include his wife, mother, and children, who is unable to stand.
He said he had given 100,000 nairas ($262) between Rogo Hospital and Gwarzo Hospital without any real specific outcome.
The Kano state administration confirmed three people’s death on Tuesday, and 284 others were hospitalized after drinking water from a nearby cemetery and drinking expired powder flavored drinks.
The management has deflated any links between the illness and the deadly coronavirus; however, part of the illness symptoms include urinary blood, vomiting, weakness, diarrhea, fever, and dizziness.
Although the state ministry of health has not categorically revealed the cause, it confirmed victims in 13 local council areas, including eight metropolitan committees.
Sulaiman Ilyasu, director of infectious ailments at the Health Ministry, verified the development but emphasized the ministry has only received reports of four people falling ill; and they have since been treated respectively.
