St Kitts and Nevis: PM Terrance Drew, FM Denzil Douglas attend 17th Annual Cuban Alumni Classes graduation ceremony
Prime Minister of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, participated in the 17th Annual Cuban Alumni Classes; 2020, 2021 and 2022 Graduation Ceremony, organised at the Cuba Conference Room.

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, participated in the 17th Annual Cuban Alumni Classes; 2020, 2021 and 2022 Graduation Ceremony, organised at the Cuba Conference Room.
Dr Drew was accompanied by the Foreign Minister of the Federation, Dr Denzil Douglas, who is also the former Prime Minister of the nation.
“I attended the 17th Annual Cuban Alumni Classes; of batch 2020, 2021 & 2022 Graduation Ceremony, which was organised at the Cuba Conference Room. In attendance were; the Hon PM Dr Terrance Drew, Guest Speaker, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Dr Geoffrey Hanley and Hon Troy Liburd, a Cuban University Graduate Medical Doctor, Junior Minister of Education on Nevis Island Administration, Past Graduates, Friends and Resident Ambassador David Riviero,” a post by Denzil Douglas read.
According to the foreign minister, the event was wonderful, and he also shared a bit of history; after the Labour Administration took office in July 1995, the Scholarships from the Cuban government were accepted by his government, and over 25 young Kittitians and Nevisians Journeyed from the federation to pursue Tertiary Level Education in several disciplines at Universities in Cuba in 1997, this was the beginning of something Good.”
Furthermore, he said, “I’m pleased that the partnership has continued over the years even though, the economic hardships have deepened combined with the Covid-19 Pandemic.
“Thank you to the Cuban Government for its continued generosity in assisting the country in building our human resource capacity,” he highlighted.
On the same day, PM Drew also attended the St Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labour Union 2022 Conference. This year, the theme of the conference was “The Time to Rebuild is Now”.

During the event, the seven (7) members were awarded by the government for their longstanding service within the Union. The awardees were Stanley Frank Jr., Eva Henderson, George Dixon, Sydney Bridgewater, James Pemberton, Mitchel Slader, and Charlotte Salters.
