Grenada: St George won the 50th anniversary celebration committee’s inaugural quadrathlon on Sunday, 28th January 2024. It is to be noted that the Round the Island Flag Relay is part of Grenada’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations.

It was an event where the National Organising Committee, Ministry of Sports of Grenada, Sporting Federations and athletes came together with the motive of creating a new concept in order to celebrate and promote sports on the island and among its citizens.

The inaugural quadrathlon will always be remembered for the ages. The runners started the journey from the north of the island at Mt Craven Bridge, St Patrick, which is a few steps from Sauteurs Bus Terminal. They exchanged their points along the way through St Mark and St. John and finished strong at Dragon Bay, where the sailors let the wind guide them to the Carenage, St George, Grenada.

Moreover, the government of Grenada also extended congratulations to Team St George for emerging victorious in this incredible feat. They also expressed their gratitude to all the participants, the volunteers, and the organisers who played a pivotal role in making this event a great success.
