Saint Lucian, Taiwan youth ambassadors participate in Business Youth Forum
The government of Saint Lucia hosted the Business Youth Forum in collaboration with the Republic of China (Taiwan).

Castries, Saint Lucia: The government of Saint Lucia hosted the Business Youth Forum in collaboration with the Republic of China (Taiwan). The authorities of both nations signed a technical agreement during the start of the Forum.
As per the reports, the Forum was for the students and young people of Taiwan, the Youth Economy and the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College.
The agreement was signed by Mr Peter Leonce – Chief Executive of Youth Economy, and Daniel Lee – Chief of Taiwan’s Technical Mission. During the ceremony, the representatives of both sides anticipated strengthening of the bilateral cooperation between the nations.
Reportedly, it was stated that the funding provided during the agreement would serve as a source for the Youth Economy Agency’s Business Training and Mentorship Program.
Dasha Jules, one of the students of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, asked the youth to explore all the available opportunities for making their dreams a reality. However, one of the youth ambassadors from Taiwan outlined the best practices for building businesses, and yet another asked to get involved in banana production.
As per the reports, the Youth Forum has provided a space for the youth of the countries to interact and develop a bond on a personal level.
This Forum was praised by the Minister with responsibility for Youth Development, Kenson Casimir. The session was addressed by the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre and the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Peter Chen. As per the sources, the PM elaborated the major objective of the Youth Economy and outlined that it will always aim to provide multiple opportunities for every Saint Lucian youth.
It is to be noted that to date, the total number of applicants who approached YEA was 1000. YEA has trained more than 100 young persons and disbursed over 500 grants to hundreds of start-ups.
According to the officials of the government of Saint Lucia, the Taiwan Youth Ambassador were on a business trip to Saint Lucia from September 4 to 9, 2023. This trip was considered to be a part of an international cultural exchange program.
