Saint Lucia: The Meteorological Department of Saint Lucia shared a weather forecast update for the morning of the last day of the year 2022. The forecast was presented by E Francis on December 30, 2022. According to the update by the weather department, the country may witness some scattered showers with predictions to have partly cloudy and breezy weather, which will become cloudy at times.
While informing about the weather conditions at the Lesser Antilles, it informed that the region would witness similar weather conditions, i.e. partly cloudy and breezy; the density of clouds will increase with time, causing some scattered showers, especially over the southern portion of the region.
According to the weather forecast shared by E Francis, the sun will rise at 6:27 am, and the time of sunset has been predicted to be 5:46 pm.
The update was further updated about the weather condition at Hewanorra Airport and GFL Airport on December 30, 2022. According to the weather update, the airports saw clouds with showers nearby. The temperature on the day was near 26°C or 79°F, and the maximum temperature at Hewanorra Airport was 29°C or 84°F. Whereas the wind speed of the airport was nearly 21 mph or 33 km/h, and the wind was blowing from the east direction.
On the same day, the airports witnessed rainfall. At Hewanorra Airport, 13.4 mm of rainfall fell in the nation, and 25.2 mm of rainfall fell at GFL Charles Airport: 25.2 mm. So far, the total rainfall for December is 87.5 mm at Hewanorra and 85.3 mm at GLF Airport.
Furthermore, the weather forecaster presented the marine forecast for seas within a 25 miles radius of the country. The seas will see locally rough waves and will swell from northeasterly to the easterly direction at 6 to 8 feet or 1.8 to 2.4 metres. While announcing the weather conditions, it also asked the sea bathers and small craft operators to be cautious as there are high chances of brisk winds and rough seas.
