Castries, Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investment and Culture –Ernest Hilaire took social media and recalled the arrival of the largest ship Arvia. Further, he stated that over 1800 passengers use the cruise ship to book shore excursions. Aside from that, over 1000 people disembarked from the ship to explore our beautiful island and visit the communities for authentic Lucian experiences.
He also mentioned that this benefited the local economy greatly because it hired several Saint Lucians as tour guides, port agents, taxi drivers, and all the other jobs involved in the cruise and tourism sectors, both directly and indirectly.
“We are prepared to make their visit, as well as the visits of all cruise ships and visitors to Saint Lucia, more memorable,” his post further claimed.
