Saint Lucia Police nabs 4 for firearm possession in joint operation
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force arrested four suspects for the offence of possessing a firearm under a joint operation conducted by the authorities on Friday.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force arrested four suspects for the offence of possessing a firearm under a joint operation conducted by the authorities on Friday.
It is to be noted that the operation was conducted by the various departments of the island nation with a vision to mitigate the elevation in crime rates. The departments, including the Criminal Investigations Department of Castries, Gros Islet CID, Bicycle Patrol Unit, Special Patrol Team, Gros Islet Patrol Team and Traffic Enforcement Team, joined hands for the exercise.
Notably, the officers executed 7 search warrants, resulting in the apprehension of four suspects. The first search warrant was conducted at a house in Jacmel, a quarter of Ansa La Raye. During the search exercise, the officers found and seized one 9 mm pistol and eight rounds of ammunition. For the same, two suspects were arrested for the offence of possessing a firearm and ammunition.
Moreover, another search warrant was held at a house in Careillie, Castries, resulting in the discovery and seizure of one Glock 9mm pistol and 17 rounds of 9 mm ammunition. During this operation, the authorities nabbed one suspect for the offence of possessing a firearm and ammunition.
The authorities also held an exercise at a house in Beausejour, Gros-Islet. While conducting the search, the authorities found and seized cannabis resin. The officers apprehended one suspect for the offence of possession of a controlled drug and for possession with intent to supply.
Furthermore, the suspect was also apprehended on a Commitment Warrant for failing to comply with a Court Order after he was convicted of Possession of a Firearm in the year 2021.
The Saint Lucia Police Force has assured the citizens that they will continue to conduct such strategic types of operations with the motive to reduce crime-related activities. They have expressed their commitment to maintaining Saint Lucia as a haven of safety for everyone.
The residents of the island nation have also appreciated the authorities for their efforts in keeping the island nation a safe and secure place for its citizens.
