Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival 2024, celebration of music and culture

Saint Lucia: The Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival, a premier event of the island nation, kicked off on April 30, 2024, and ended on a high note by May 12, coinciding with Mother’s Day. This festival witnesses music lovers from around the globe every year.

In 2024, the world’s music lovers were drawn to the event with performances from Air Supply, Babyface, Chloe, and several other surprises in stock. Along with the seven themed nights,” The Art & the City,” events have been organized at the Art Basel, which celebrated the rich Caribbean culture. The Festival hosted performances from scenic viewpoints, promoting a lively twelve-day celebration that embodied art and music.

All the acts on the final night gave amazing performances that left the audience in awe. In the afternoon, Augustine Jab and Carl Gustave entertained the audience with their smooth sounds.

Dominican songstress Michelle Henderson took the audience on a musical delight, covering top hits such as Feeling Good and Overjoyed. The “princess of song” closed her set with Prince’s Purple Rain.

When the lights dimmed, the stage lit up with the words “Air Supply,” the fans shouted while some stood awestruck. It was a historic moment as it was Australian soft rock duo Air Supply’s first performance in St Lucia. The star-struck crowd grooved, and sang to classics such as Just As I Am, Every Woman in the World, and All Out Of Love.

Concluding the night with glam was Babyface, a 13-time Grammy Award winner who has proved to be an undoubtedly amazing singer,  and music producer. He has perfected the art of stage presence with his charming career. He has racked up numerous A-class hits like Whip Appeal, Two Occasions, and Close My Eyes.

“No one does Jazz like Saint Lucia,” the sentiments expressed and echoed by many. You have to be there to witness the magic and provide your senses a feast.
