Castries, Saint Lucia: Ministry of Youth Development and Sports – Saint Lucia announced that the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc presented team Saint Lucia to the Media on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, for the CONCACAF Boys Under-15 championship.
The championship is slated for Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Sunday, August 6– Saturday, August 12, 2023.
According to the update by the Ministry, on the road to the championship, Head Coach Ryan Desir said, “I expect the players to show commitment to the playing methods”. The team comprises two goalkeepers, seven defenders, five midfielders, and four forwards.
He added, “As we approach the 2023 CONCACAF U15 boys’ championship, my expectation is for the team to demonstrate effort, and cohesiveness, throughout. After weeks of hard work in various playing conditions and opponents, our goal is to consistently perform at the level which we are capable of giving us the best opportunity of being competitive during the tournament.”
It furthermore highlighted that Saint Lucia was drawn in League B, Group F with Barbados, Guadeloupe, and Guyana. Saint Lucia plays on successive days, from Sunday, August 6, against Guadeloupe, Monday, August 7, versus Barbados, and Guyana, Tuesday, August 8.
The Technical Staff included the head coach Ryan Desir, the assistant coach – is Somers Augustin, the goalkeeper coach – is Bernard President; and the team doctor – is Ravie Chiquot.
The final squad of 18, which leaves for the Dominican Republic on Friday, July 5, was officially named by Shayne Paul, the team manager.
They are the following:
Goalkeepers: A’Dee Germe and Tyrell Vidal.
Defenders: Justin Augustin (Captain), Michael Justin, Phillip Jorhan, Marlick Louis, Adriano Auguste, Eli Prospere and Jerald Henry.
Midfielders: Alex Devaux (Vice Captain), Dervaj Edward, Thierry Morille, Keenan Joseph and Omarion Edwin.
Strikers: Shevon Byron, Traylan Henry, Justice Germaine, and Kailon Flavius.
