Read Here: New Year wishes of Caribbean leaders

Following the eve of New Year, the Caribbean leaders penned down heartfelt messages for their citizens. 

Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness cited, “For many, 2021 was one of the most challenging years; globally, nationally, and personally, in our lifetimes. As Jamaica, like the world, tried to protect our population from the deadly virus through measures such as curfews, lockdowns, mask-wearing and vaccination, these very measures which have kept us safe, have also disrupted our social routines, disrupted supply chains, disrupted livelihoods, and imposed on our freedoms.”

As we bid 2021 goodbye, we welcome the opportunities a new year presents, cognizant of the challenges but filled with a spirit of hope, optimism and determination.

Though we have been slowed by the Pandemic, we have not been derailed; Jamaica is still on track. Hardships there are, but the land is green and the sun shineth.

“I wish for all Jamaicans, a happy, healthy, safe and prosperous 2022.”

Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, asserted, “Even in these challenging times caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, we must maintain our courage and hope for better days ahead. As we say our goodbyes to 2021, may the New Year deliver us all joy, peace, and good health.

Happy New Year to all, Stay healthy and safe.”

“Blessings for a #happynewyear2022. My #NewYearsDayAddress can be viewed on both Saturday and Sunday as follows,” writes Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Timothy Harris. 

St Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister, Ralph Gonsalves’ party – United Labour party, wrote, “Happy New Year St Vincent and the Grenadines”, while sharing a picture of the leader. 

While St Lucian Prime Minister, Philip J Pierre, wrote, “My brothers and my sisters, happy new year! We have quite a journey ahead of us but I remain hopeful that if we work together, we will realise our collective goals to see a healthy, safe and prosperous Saint Lucia.”
