PM Rowley meets Chief Secretary Augustine, discusses high priority areas

Trinidad and Tobago: On Monday, Prime Minister Keith Rowley had a meeting with Chief Secretary Farley Augustine at his Official residence, Blenheim House in Tobago.

The objective behind the meeting was to take an idea on some of the high priority areas of the nation, including the continued expansion of the island’s agricultural sector, growth of the tourism product, digital transformation, national security, direct foreign investment in property, public administration, land title and adjudication issues, and sport and youth development.

The four-hour meet was concluded with the agreeing of the participants to maintain functional communication between the ministers and secretaries.

The interaction also threw light on the priorities and programmes across the country that are needed to be addressed by the officers of the Central Government and the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).

According to the tweet by Prime Minister Rowley, the meeting was attended by several other Cabinet Ministers and Secretaries of the Trinidad and Tobago Assembly.

Other attendees of the meeting were: Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs the Hon Faris Al-Rawi; Minister of Public Administration, Senator the Honourable Allyson West; Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds; Minister of Sport & Community Development, Shamfa Cudjoe; Minister of Digital Transformation, Senator Hassel Bacchus; Advisor to Prime Minister on Agriculture Dr John Alleyne; Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts, Senator Randall Mitchell; Tashia Burris, Secretary for Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation; Trevor James, Secretary for Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and Urban Development; Nathisha Charles Pantin, Secretary of Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development; and Karl Murray, Technical Officer for Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, Environment & Sustainable Development.

A meeting has been scheduled for February 8. On the following day, PM Rowley will interact with the Minority Leader of the Assembly, Kelvon Morris and Assembly Councillor of the House, Pertal Daniel Benoit, at his residence.
