Jamaica: Prime Minister Andrew Holness expressed grief on passing of Jamaica Labour Party’s Councillor/ caretaker – Omar Francis. PM Holness stated that this news has left the country in the feeling of deep sadness.
Prime Minister Holness took social media and stated, “The tragic news of the passing of Jamaica Labour Party’s Councillor/caretaker for the Point Hill Division, Omar Francis, has left me feeling deep sadness this morning.”
He further praised him for his work as a special assistant to the Minister of Health of Grenada, Dr Christopher Tufton. He was also the Vice President of the young professional affiliate, Generation 2000 (G2K).
Francis passed away in a motor vehicle accident on the morning of June 13, 2022 (Monday).
PM Holness’ message of sorrow further read, “Francis, who passed away in a motor vehicle accident this morning, was also Special Assistant to our Minister of Health, Dr Christopher Tufton and was a Vice President of our young professional affiliate, Generation 2000 (G2K).”
He also prayed for the comforting embrace and to give them the strength during this time of immense grief. He was quoted as, “I pray the Lord envelopes Omar’s family, friends and loved ones in His comforting embrace, and give them the strength they will so need in their time of immense grief.”
PM Holness stated, “Rest well Omar, you will be deeply missed by many”.
