As per sources, Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Maria Browne met with US President Joseph Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at the inaugural event of the IX Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles, California (Wednesday, 8th June 2022).
Prime Minister Gaston Browne and CARICOM Colleagues are currently in Los Angeles, USA, attending The Summit of the Americas. The Summit will engage Hemisphere leaders in discussing pertinent issues such as building a sustainable and resilient future along with democracy, technology and pandemic resilience.
The Summit, which began on June 6, will be ended on June 10, 2022.
The main focus of the IX Summit of the Americas is on “Building a Sustainable, Resilient, and Equitable Future” for our hemisphere.
Moreover, several leaders from the Caribbean have reached out to America to attend the IX Summit of the Americas.
The head of the states of the Caribbean nations attended the Summit and represented their respective countries. The leaders who visited were Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda – Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Barbados – Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Belize – Johnny Briceño, Prime Minister of Dominica – Roosevelt Skerrit, President of Guyana – Irfaan Ali, Prime Minister of Haiti – Ariel Henry, Prime Minister of Jamaica – Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of St Lucia – Philip J Pierre and Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago – Dr Keith Rowley.
