PM Andrew Holness shares development update in Jamaica
Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness has shared a glimpse of the infrastructure development conducted by the government.

Jamaica: Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness has shared a glimpse of the infrastructure development conducted by the government. He stated that the government had undertaken several legacy projects which would improve and benefit the entire country.
While sharing a quick update on projects underway or in the final stages of planning development:
• Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project.
• Portmore Resilience Park – Ground will be broken for the resilience park by year-end 2022.
• Portmore Parish Status – Labelled the “smart city.”
• Morant Bay Urban Centre.
• Montego Bay Perimeter Road.
Earlier, he mentioned about the development of the New Social Housing Programme. He stated, “Under the New Social Housing Programme is making homeownership possible for those who didn’t even dare to dream. Over the next three years, we will build 1500 homes for our vulnerable citizens. Without a doubt, all citizens, irrespective of economic status, deserve a good home.”
Furthermore, he outlined the government’s commitment to enforcing effective management of solid waste in Jamaica; the government handed over much-needed bikes to the National Solid Waste Management Authority. These bikes will help the Authority improve the way solid waste is managed locally by increasing the visibility and mobility of the enforcement personnel.
Besides this, PM Andrew Holness mentioned that Jamaicans islandwide would soon begin to experience significant improvements in their garbage collection and disposal services by adding 50 new trucks to the NSWMA’s fleet.
“This is another example of how your government has used our rapid economic recovery to reposition Jamaica on its growth trajectory and respond to the needs of citizens,” he stated.
