Bahamas: The Progressive Liberal Party is investing heavily in small businesses and encouraging Bahamians to launch new businesses.
To enhance the growth of the economy in a nation, leaders tend to give their attention to Large Businesses instead of small ones, but PLP’s objective is to fuel small business for developing the nation’s economy is sounding more accurate.
Recently, PLP organised a road trip to enhance the comprehensive plan to create employment.
Party candidate Leslia Brice (Seabreeze) stated, “When the Progressive Liberal Party comes into power, one of our primary focuses will be the empowerment of Bahamian entrepreneurs.”

Furthermore, she added, “when our party will come under governance, our immediate focus will be the investment of 50 million dollars to fund opportunities for Bahamian businesses owners and up to 250 million dollars invested in business opportunities over 5 years period plan.”

She added,” It will not matter what your last name is and what colour of shirt you will wear on election day. The new economic plan will give equal opportunities to everyone.”
The PLP is following an equitable approach in funding the investment of Bahamian businesses to develop the nation and individuals both.
She declared, “After funding, The PLP will be revisiting the incentives available to Bahamian business owners, and will ensure that all are getting the incentives, the incentives includes-reductions and exemptions in customs duties, real property tax, business-related fees.”
“The eligible business will see significant savings in that will boost their profits and allow them to expand their businesses and to reinvest in prior schemes plus new opportunities in the field of business trade,” she added.
The development of new industries like renewable energy, digital is creating new opportunities for every businessperson in the Bahamas.
On the other hand, another member, Leonardo Lightbourne, stated, “The PLP is investing heavily in small businesses and encouraging Bahamians to launch new businesses, which will create self-employment opportunities and numerous jobs at each of these businesses.”

Furthermore, he added, By strengthening the link between the manufacturing sector and tourism, the PLP will allow manufacturing businesses to expand their revenues and their payroll as they scale up to take advantage of new opportunities through increased access to the millions of visitors who will be coming to our islands when the pandemic has ended.
