Melissa Skerrit pours wishes for Saint Lucia’s 45th Independence Anniversary
The First Lady Melissa Poponne Skerrit extended her congratulations and best wishes to Prime Minister Philip J Pierre and the people of Saint Lucia on its 45th Independence Anniversary.

Roseau, Dominica: The First Lady Melissa Poponne Skerrit extended her congratulations and best wishes to Prime Minister Philip J Pierre and the people of Saint Lucia on its 45th Independence Anniversary. She is also serving as a Minister of Housing, Land, and Urban Development in St Kitts and Nevis.
Minister Skerrit expressed joy and extended a vote of thanks to designer Dons & Divas for creating a piece of wardrobe from their Creole Couture collection for PM Pierre on behalf of Skerrits’- PM Roosevelt Skerrit and First Lady Melissa Skerrit.
The gift symbolizes a token of their support and camaraderie. She added that they were filled with joy to know that the leader of Saint Lucia liked their gift.
“A belated Happy 45th Anniversary to our sister island St Lucia!! I am so pleased and honoured that we were able to share the joy of the day’s celebration with you in some way. Thank you to the designer from the Creole Couture Collection carried at Dons & Divas for creating this piece for the Honourable Prime Minister of St Lucia as a small token of our support and camaraderie. We are so happy that you truly love it!” added Minister Skerrit.
She further cherished the partnership and relations of both nations and wished the nation for its continuous growth and development. Minister Skerrit expressed her commitment to support their sister island and wished them a peaceful year ahead.
“Here is to many prosperous and peaceful years for the future of our sister island St Lucia!” remarked First Lady Skerrit.
Additionally, Saint Lucia celebrated its 45th Independence Day under the theme, “Douvan Ansanm: Building a Nation Through Unity, Resilience and Creativity.”
The celebrations of Independence Day started with a Military Parade at the Soufriere Mini Stadium. All the contingents included Saint Lucian soldiers who participated in the Independence Military Parade and showcased the unique and vibrant culture of the country.
