KNOW HERE: Results of Secondary Schools Netball Championship
Three netball matches were played in the Sports Division Secondary Schools Netball Championship at Windsor Park Forecourt on Friday, 17th November 2023.

Three netball matches were played in the Sports Division Secondary Schools Netball Championship at Windsor Park Forecourt on Friday, 17th November 2023.
The first game was played between Convent High School and Dominica Grammar School in the under-16 category. The match was won by Convent High School with a score of 38-5.
The scorer from Convent High School:
– Kenya John scored 22 goals from 28 attempts.
– Norlyse Didier netted 16 goals from 20 attempts.
The player who scored goals from Dominica Grammar School:
– Rochelle Marshall took eight attempts to score five goals.
The second match was conducted between Wesley High School and Goodwill Secondary School in the under-16 category.
The goal scorer from Wesley High School:
– Joannie Joseph, who netted 1 goal in just one attempt.
The player who netted goals from Goodwill Secondary School:
– Marie Morhime took 17 attempts to score eight goals.
– Mia Dangler netted 13 goals from 24 attempts.
Game three: The match was held between Convent High School and Dominica Grammar School in the Under 20 category.
The goal scorer from Convent High School:
– Kenya John, who netted 39 out of 52 attempts.
– Beata Vidal scored 17 goals out of 22 attempts.
– Monique Edwards managed to score seven goals in 13 attempts.
The players who scored goals for Dominica Grammar School:
– Rochelle Marshall netted five goals from 7 attempts.
– Rebecca Parillon scored 4 out of 7 attempts.
Netball matches will be continued on Monday, 20th November 2023. Three matches will be played on Monday as well.
The schedule of the matches:
Game 1 – The match will be played between Dominica Grammar School and Goodwill Secondary School in the Under 16 division at 3:00 pm.
Game 2 – Castle Bruce Secondary School will face Dominica Grammar School in the 20 division in the second game on Monday at 4:00 pm.
Game 3 – Dominica State College will play against Academix at 4:00 pm.
Moreover, the last time girls played the netball championship, the match was played between Castle Bruce Secondary School and North East Comprehensive School in two different categories of under 16 and under 20.
In the under-16 division, Castle Bruce Secondary School defeated North East Comprehensive School with scores of 27-11.
In the second match of the day and in the under-20 category, the match was won by North East Comprehensive School by defeating Castle Bruce Secondary School with a score of 25-9.
Thus, such championship conducted by Dominica is a positive step towards engaging and promoting women in sports.
