JNF General Hospital unveils newly renovated Lobby with enhanced lighting and other welcoming features

The newly renovated lobby at the Joseph N. France General Hospital of St Kitts and Nevis has been officially handed over to the Ministry of Health. This handing over ceremony was conducted on Tuesday, 22ndOctober, 2024, marking a huge step towards enhancing the overall aesthetics of the entire facility.
The symbolic handing over ceremony was attended by several delegates including the Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr. Terrance Drew. These renovations made in the lobby was a part of The Cable’s community outreach initiative for the 40th anniversary of celebration.

While addressing everyone present at the ceremony, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew stated that this transformation undertaken in the facility shed light on their commitment of creating a calming and welcoming space for both visitors and patients alike.
He firstly extended gratitude to The Cable, TDC Group of Companies and the other private sector entities that collaborated on the renovation project.
The Prime Minister mentioned the healthcare sector and called it a national concern, which can be addressed by bringing people together as one unstoppable force working for the healthy living of the nation.
PM Terrance Drew noted that there were significant issues of leakages they were facing at the institution which was becoming a huge cause of concern and obstacle in their goal of creating a healthy environment for the patients.
He therefore highlighted about the investment made by the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for collaborating with them on their journey to stop the leaking at JNF. He added that all these transformations undertaken at the JNF Hospital is a part of their unwavering commitment towards enhancing the infrastructure of the facility and improving the medical services of the island nation.
“We are on a journey to re-establish the healthcare system as a premier health system in the Caribbean region, and we are achieving much in a shorter space of time,” noted PM Terrance Drew.
Moreover, the CEO of the Cable, Patricia Walters also emphasized on the renovation project and stated that they always wanted to create a lobby which offers a pleasant waiting atmosphere, making a comfortable and warm environment for all the patients and the visitors.
She added that this transformation truly reflects what they wanted to create as it would play a crucial role in lifting the spirits of the people present in the hospital and providing them with a pleasant experience.
The CEO added that this refurbished lobby would not only improve the patient experience but will also alleviate the anxiety that often accompanies a hospital visit.
Also, the ceremony was attended by delegates including, Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, Deputy Prime Minister; Joyelle Clarke, Minister of Telecommunications; Crios Freeman, Deputy Chair of the Board of Directors for The Cable and many more.
