A Jamaican man lost his life in a US hospital on Tuesday, after ten days of being on life support after he was punched in the face by a man and hitting his head on a sidewalk.
Lenford Johnson, nicknamed as ‘Bagga’, was 62-year-old was born and raised in St Ann, Jamaica and then he migrated to the US around 20 years ago and worked as an auto mechanic.
He was punched by a man during a dispute and Johnson hit his head on the sidewalk outside the Caribbean American Entertainment Centre on Nostrand Avenue near Tilden Avenue in East Flatbush after being punched.
The incident happened on November 7 at about 3 am.
The man who punched Johnson accused him of allegedly making a sly remark about the man’s sister in a bar.
The Jamaican man was rushed to the hospital, and he spent ten days on life support before he lost his life.
The Police did not arrest anyone concerning this incident so far.
Tracy Lewin, Johnson’s stepdaughter, said that the doctors gave Johnson one per cent chance of surviving because Johnson had bleeding in his brain.
She added that he loved to feeding people and cooking for his friends at home while listening to music. He would fry fish, make a festival before he even went to the bar.
It is noteworthy that Johnson worked as a chef on a cruise ship before he settled into his career as a mechanic in Brooklyn.
